Unified communications software provider BroadSoft on April 6 released a new cloud-based tool called Hub that features built-in artificial intelligence to help company employees save time searching for information.
Broadsoft, a $400 million company that makes all its applications for cloud deployment and competes in a global market with Cisco Systems, Microsoft, Mitel, Avaya, NEC and others, said it believes the average knowledge worker in the U.S. wastes about 2.5 hours per 8-hour day searching for information.
Thus the goal of Hub is to enable workers to use that time more constructively by deploying AI to address the burdens they face when trying to manage the growing volume of emails, messages, files, tasks and meetings that are created on a daily basis.
Hub is built into all BroadSoft workforce communications apps, including Team-One, its Team Collaboration app that competes with Slack and Microsoft Teams. With Hub, business users gain real-time access to the files, notes and content relevant to each interaction with the goal of making meetings and conversations more productive.
Hub combines BroadSoft apps with the cloud tools employees use each day, such as Google G Suite, Office 365, Salesforce and others into one unified view, thereby making AI avalable for use in each real-time conversation and meeting.
Key capabilities of BroadSoft Hub now commercially available include:
—Built-in integrations with cloud applications: Hub integrates real-time communications with Office 365, Google G Suite, Salesforce, Team-One and Twitter. Additional popular cloud applications will be integrated over time.
—bOpen APIs: Service providers and third-party developers can use BroadSoft Hub’s open APIs to build custom integrations and address the specific needs of business end-users.
—Seamless application enhancements: As a cloud-based service, BroadSoft continuously pushes new functionality to end-users on a monthly basis. This includes new integrations, user interface (UI) refinements, performance improvements and availability on other BroadSoft Business applications.
